Manny ft: Nancy Okai – My Love (Single)

“My Love” A Story That Never Broke.

Some stories don’t end when people go their separate ways. Sometimes, they evolve.

Speaking on the record, Manny say’s “My Love” is one of the most personal records I’ve written. It’s inspired by my parents, who’ve lived in different countries for over 15 years, yet somehow never let distance redefine what they mean to each other. My dad still calls my mum every morning, no matter what. That quiet consistency stuck with me.

This track sits as the third chapter in my Journey project, following on from “Holding On.” Where that song explored separation, “My Love” looks at what survives after it. I wrote it from my dad’s perspective as a kind of tribute to a love that refuses to fade, even when life makes things complicated.

I wanted the sound to feel just as intimate as the story. Working with Ray Kills, we leaned into something more stripped back and honest, with lush guitars, touches of cello, and vocals from Nancy Okai that almost feel like a conversation or a prayer. It’s a return to my singer songwriter roots, but still shaped by everything I’ve been exploring sonically.

Even though it’s deeply personal, I don’t think this song belongs only to me. Everyone defines love differently, and I hope people can hear their own stories in it, whether it’s about distance, resilience, or simply choosing someone every single day.
