On Tuesday night, Wisconsin-based outfit Archers kicked off their UK tour at Audio in Glasgow. Opening the night were Tropic Gold, a band from Suffolk-via-Essex who were described as the “hottest new band” by Kerrang! back in 2023. As soon as the first vocals dropped, the message was clear: they did not come on stage to play dull. Instead, they delivered a powerful performance, blending electronic, metal, and more melodic tones.
Described as a metalcore and pop-rock band, Archers took the stage at 9pm. For a little bit over an hour, they performed twelve songs, including their newest single “Say So”, and other classics such as “Wide Awake” and “Say this Sober”. In between songs, lead singer Nathanael Pulley took the opportunity to introduce the band, their origins, struggles, and newly found success.
He shared a message of compassion and support to all those who may be currently struggling – hang in there, you are seen and loved. It was a high-adrenaline show and the fans were loving it; from headbanging to singing along and joining a mini mosh pit, everyone was drawn to the band’s energy and was enjoying themselves. The bands even kicked around after their set for some chatting and photos with fans. There was no better way to spend a Tuesday night.
