DC is getting seriously strange… and in the best possible way. The first glimpse promises a a slick, unsettling pivot into full-blown horror territory for the studio.

DCs Clayface Drops First Teaser Trailer Ahead of October 2026 Release

Directed by James Watkins (best known British horror-thriller likes for Eden Lake), the film reimagines the iconic Gotham villain as the centre of a dark, twisted story about psychological descent. Tom Rhys Harries leads the cast as a rising Hollywood star whose life begins to unravel in grotesque and irreversible ways after an attack by a gangster. During his recovery, his body and his mind begin to mutate into something recognisably monstrous.

As his career stalls, the eponymous Clayface becomes entangled in a shadowy scientific treatment promises transformation. However, the treatment quicky spirals into something far darker and unpredictable. DC steps away from its more familiar superhero spectacle with Clayface. With this teaser, it offers a body-horror nightmare about obsession and the terrifying fragility of identity.

The screenplay comes from Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, with Flanagan also contributing to the story. The supporting cast includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan.

Clayfacewill be released in the UK and Ireland on 23rd October 2026 byWarner Bros. Pictures.
