Second Sight films bring us a new box-set Blu-Ray release of the three films in theGinger Snapstrilogy. I’ve long been a fan of the first film, called simplyGinger Snaps(2000), as it came along at a time when horror seemed to be retreading a lot of old ground (is that evernotthe case) and presented something new and refreshing. Karen Walton penned the screenplay, and John Fawcett directed this tale of two sisters. The basic idea, as are all the best ideas, is simple: take a girl coming into puberty and starting her periods and so on, and align it with the…
Following the release of OBDN’t Overachiever, Nath Tavares returns with Fooled!, an infectious pop rap anthem that pairs hard hitting production with sharp lyricism. Blending driving beats with her signature percussive delivery, the track explores the pressure to chase society’s definition of success, and the emptiness that can remain once you’ve achieved it.Inspired by her own experiences, Nath reflects on years spent ticking every expected box: earning degrees, building an international career in tech and consulting, and climbing the corporate ladder, only to realise fulfilment wasn’t waiting at the finish line. Fooled! captures that realisation while encouraging listeners to question…
Prem Byrne, based in Forest Knolls, United States, is back with his deeply reflective new song “When the Honeymoon Is Over”. The new soft rock song has lots of world influences and a strong nostalgic vibe to it…. a dreamy, sun-kissed soft rock gem overflowing with warmth, nostalgia, and heartfelt musicianship. As is usual with his music, his vocals lead the way. The first minute offers the listener a sleek acoustic feel, before some dreamy sounds come in just before the half-minute mark. Then, ultimately, some sliding guitars offer the listener a shimmering, sun-kissed sound.I personally loved the guitar solo just…
Brazilian techno artist Joanna Coelho steps into a new phase with Feel The Acid (released via PYRO Records), You Can’t Fake This, Duro, and her upcoming Techno EP, expanding her hard-hitting rave language without losing the pressure that built her name. Known for aggressive rhythms and neorave intensity, Coelho is now pulling more groove, space, acid movement, Latin instinct, and sharper production control into the frame. Duro, released via Rave To The Grave, brings schranz force together with Spanish vocals, Latin energy, and urban-inspired trumpet lines, giving her summer output a hybrid club identity with real bite. That evolution continues…

single review, video premiere & back-catalogue peakShoun ShounDripSelf releasedDL onlyOut nowLTW reviewed Shoun Shoun’s album Monsters & Heroes in 2022, so it has been a while. No wave. No logic. Somewhere between art rock and electronica / Making noise for our pleasure is how they describe themselves. Drip is the first taste of an album of the same name, due out in the Autumn. And it’s the kind of song Ged Babey thinks maybe should be reviewed from a female perspective? But then again, I have been a passenger on my wife’s hormonal rollercoaster for forty years, so I do have…
