Sankeys Manchester Confirms Seasonal Closing Party – Electric Mode

Sankeys Manchester has announced its seasonal closing party, bringing to an end its first run since reopening, before the venue takes a short summer break.

The club will stage the closing event on Saturday, 27 June, based on Sidney Street and marking the end of a strong reopening season for one of Manchester’s most recognised underground club brands. The night will be a final celebration before Sankeys closes for a short summer break. The break will be used to make further improvements to the space, with work to focus on refining the venue and reinforcing the sound system ahead of the next phase.

Commenting on the club’s return to date, Club Partner Wilf Gregory said: “We have truly been blown away by the love and support in our first season of reopening, and it’s been an honour to bring back such a well-loved brand as Sankeys to Manchester. That being said, we will be taking a break this summer to fine-tune the venue and sound, ready for our winter season.”

Sankeys will be reopening on Saturday, 26 September, with a launch party that will kick off a new run of carefully curated events. The club’s underground roots will be preserved for the next season, but presented in a modern light. Music will continue to drive the direction of the venue.

Since reopening, Sankeys has already re-emerged as a vital part of the Manchester late-night scene. Its 6 am licence has helped reinstate the full clubbing experience the venue is known for, while the return of its own party brand, The Redlight, has helped cement its identity.

The club has welcomed a diverse array of respected names from house, techno and underground electronic music in its first season back. Artists such as Felix Da Housecat, Maya Jane Coles, Solardo, Stacey Pullen, Steve Lawler, Nick Curly, Josh Butler, Heidi, Lauren Lo Sung, Priku, Reboot, Seb Zito and Tania Vulcano have been part of the programme. Alongside these guests, Sankeys has continued to support regular selectors such as Pirate Copy, Idris Dee, Kellie Allen, Luca 606 and Krysko, keeping the sound and community tied to the club’s reputation.

With a closing party now confirmed, and a September reopening already in place, it looks as though Sankeys is going to use the summer break as a reset, returning with a refreshed venue, improved sound and renewed focus on underground club culture.
