If you’re not subscribing to our monthly supporters newsletter you’ll be missing out on our exclusive supporters playlist of the best new americana we’ve heard over the last few weeks which this month includes new tracks by My Girl The River, The Jayhawks, Lambchop, Jerry Joseph & the Jackmorons, Kate Waters and Allison Russell among others – as always we trawl through the best Americana we’ve heard recently so you don’t have to.

For our giveaway for September for one lucky supporter we have a pair of tickets to see Irish folk outfit Ranagri (pronounced Ran – ag – rye) on their forthcoming UK tour. The band take their name from a stretch of farmland in County Carlow, Ireland, that has been in lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dónal Rogers’ family since 1658. A landscape rich with generations of memories and the experiences of those who came before, Ranagri represents heritage, belonging and stories that travel across time. Those deep bonds are at the heart of Ranagri’s new album, Say Hello, which draws inspiration from the journeys of those who left Ireland in search of new beginnings: the hopes they carried across the oceans, the challenges they faced, and the enduring ties they maintained with the people and places they left behind. You can pre-order the album from this link.

To celebrate the release ofSay Hello, the band’s first original studio album since 2022, Ranagri will bring their formidable live show to UK venues in September and November. Here are all the dates:

9thSep – Folk in the Barn/Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury

You can become an AUK supporter for as little as £2.99 a month for which princely sum you will receive a monthly exclusive supporters playlist along with being entered into our monthly prize draw. We all give our time freely to bring this site to you each day so thanks for your support if you can help out.
