The Moshville Times – Shinedown release eighth studio album EI8HT and premiere music video for Young Again

Multi-platinum rock titans Shinedown have officially released their highly anticipated eighth studio album, EI8HT, via Atlantic Records. To celebrate the monumental rollout, the band hosted a global livestream Q&A from the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa, Florida, immediately followed by the world premiere of the official music video for their new single, “Young Again.”

The 18-track collection arrives on the back of an unprecedented cultural wave for the group, with its pre-release tracks having already amassed over 91 million global streams. The rollout follows a historic run on the airwaves, where the crossover smash “Safe And Sound” officially became the band’s record-extending 23rd number-one single on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and 25th number-one on the Mediabase Active Rock chart. Produced entirely by bassist Eric Bass at Big Animal Studio in Charleston, the new record completely subverts expectations for a legacy act, delivering a massive, genre-blurring collection of explosive arena anthems and deeply emotional arrangements.

The album’s release aligns seamlessly with our own critical assessment here at the publication. In our official review of EI8HT, we praised the band’s relentless creative peak, noting that the album highlights a group constantly trying to outdo themselves rather than resting on past accomplishments, seamlessly balancing stadium-sized hooks with vulnerable, human lyricism.

“From the very beginning, this band has always been about people,” says frontman Brent Smith. “This album was built for everyone. No matter where you come from, what you believe, what you’re carrying, or what you’re trying to overcome, there’s something in this record for you. We want people to feel seen in it.”

This summer, the band will carry their massive momentum into the extensive Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour, spanning 11 countries and more than 50 dates. Continuing their longstanding philanthropic efforts, Shinedown will donate $1 from every ticket sold directly to the City of Hope cancer research and treatment organization. The tour will hit UK arenas this coming November, featuring a formidable supporting lineup of Coheed and Cambria and Those Damn Crows.
