DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: Votte Hall feat. AZ – Motion Pt. 2

Votte Hall AZ Motion Pt. 2In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we would like to introduce you to upcoming artist Votte Hall and his brand new single titled “Motion Pt. 2” featuring AZ.

Billboard-charting R&B artist Votte Hall is back with “Motion Pt. 2,” a soulful new single that celebrates perseverance, ambition and the moment when years of hard work finally begin to pay off. Produced by acclaimed hitmaker LaDamon “FatBoi” Douglas and featuring legendary Brooklyn rapper AZ, the record brings together two distinctive voices for a powerful meeting point between R&B and hip-hop.

At its heart, “Motion Pt. 2” is about the journey behind the success. Over FatBoi’s rich, soulful production, Votte Hall reflects on the long nights, sacrifices and uncertainty that came before the rewards. The imagery moves from working in a dark kitchen to Maybach rides and penthouse views, but the luxury is never presented without acknowledging the road that made it possible. This is a celebration that remembers the grind.

AZ adds another dimension to that message with the razor-sharp lyricism that has made him one of hip-hop’s most respected voices. First introduced to a wider audience through his celebrated appearance alongside Nas on Illmatic, AZ went on to build an acclaimed solo career with projects including Doe or Die, while “Sugar Hill” became one of his signature records. His connection to The Firm further cemented his place in hip-hop history. On “Motion Pt. 2,” his unmistakable delivery and wordplay perfectly complement Votte’s reflective approach.

Behind the record is producer LaDamon “FatBoi” Douglas, whose extensive production résumé includes work with Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Nicki Minaj, Ella Mai, Monica, Flo Rida and Plies. His production gives the single a polished, soulful foundation that allows both Votte and AZ to tell their stories without losing the record’s sense of momentum.

For Votte Hall, that momentum is personal. He broke through in 2018 with “Kiss On Me,” beginning a journey that would take him to Billboard-chart recognition, arena stages, live television and performances connected to NFL and professional sports franchises. His 2024 album Heartbreaker continued to expand his international audience while demonstrating his ability to move freely across musical styles.

That versatility is rooted in Hall’s R&B and soul foundation, while his Gullah Geechee, African and Caribbean heritage, along with his appreciation for Afrobeats and global rhythms, adds further cultural depth to his sound. His music combines melody, rhythm and storytelling in a way that reflects an artist who has never wanted to be limited to a single lane.

Perhaps most importantly, Votte’s story is one that extends beyond music. Before the Billboard recognition and major performances, he was building a career as an everyday businessman while pursuing his ambitions as an artist. Balancing professional responsibilities with the pursuit of a creative dream is a reality shared by countless entrepreneurs, artists and professionals, and it gives “Motion Pt. 2” an especially relatable foundation.

The song speaks directly to anyone building something after work, waiting for their business to take off, creating music that has not yet been discovered or simply continuing to bet on themselves when nobody else can see the bigger picture.

“Motion Pt. 2” is already receiving radio support from stations including V103 and Hot 107.9 in Atlanta, WGPR in Detroit, WJTT in Chattanooga, WRBJ in Jackson and WDAI in Myrtle Beach, adding to the momentum surrounding Votte Hall’s latest chapter.

With Votte Hall bringing the soul, AZ bringing the bars and FatBoi providing the soundtrack, “Motion Pt. 2” turns personal perseverance into a universal message. The dream may take years to materialize, but the destination becomes that much more meaningful when you remember where you started.

For Votte Hall, the message is simple: keep going until the dream is in Motion.
