British Kenyan-Ugandan singer songwriter Victor Ray returns with his emotionally charged new single ‘I Don’t Want It’, released via Fontana UK. Exploring the exhausting cycle of toxic relationships and the freedom that comes with walking away, the track marks a bold new chapter for one of the UK’s most exciting rising voices.
Born from an organic jam session with Grammy-winning producer Bekon (Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Hozier), the track combines stirring production with Ray’s unmistakably powerful vocals and deeply personal songwriting. Speaking on the release, he explains: “I wrote ‘I Don’t Want It’ about finally choosing me. It comes after years of staying comfortable in a relationship that had deteriorated.”
Born in Uganda and raised in Newcastle, Ray has come a long way from busking on London’s streets, building a global following through viral performances, acclaimed EPs and sold out headline shows. Following collaborations with the likes of Kojey Radical and Kygo, ‘I Don’t Want It’ finds him sounding more assured and emotionally fearless than ever, offering another compelling glimpse into his continued evolution.
